Graduation

Sooo, im about to Graduate in a two hours and i cannot believe it. It has been the most ridiculously awesome 4 years of my life. Sure there have been the ups and the downs but none the less i wanted to say thank you to everyone at Ringling these past years. You guys have made it the best and if there are people out there considering whetere or not to come to Ringling, minus some of the BS, its awesome!

Also, i am going to post the final version of Greg and Mines film very soon...im driving out to Arizona with a friend to help him move back home then im flying to San Francisco! Im gonna be looking for a place to stay for the next year, hopefully for many more years to come as well!

Class of '09 forever!!

Movie Poster Time

Greg and I collaborated on what I think will be the final Thesis project for the year. We had a to make a mock Movie Poster in preparation for our Senior Show on May 2nd. We decided to spoof Chicago, props to Greg for coming up with the idea!

All in all Thesis has been awesome fun and Greg is super cool to work with, he has inspired me so much and for that I eternally grateful...Its been a pleasure to work with ya buddy!

I dont have any stuff to post...but i do have good news. Hit and Run, the official title of our thesis, was accepted into the Siggraph Computer Animation Fesitval! WAA WHO!!!

Here is the Deconstructor with updated textures. Spent a lot of time trying to make him look nifty so i kept the image fairly high res, sorry for the scrolling...

Thesis is rolling along, 19 or 20ish days left. Lifes been stressful and we havent had time to post updates, and i dont think i will be able to until its all done. Its going to come down to the wire, but im happy with where its going!

In the meantime thought id post some other class boredness...

Hellllllo!!

I guess to be politically correct...Happy Holidays! Thesis is chugging along, actually we took a break from it for the Holiday Break. We got plenty of corrections to make but a plan of attack for the Spring Semester. Its shaping up, slowly...next semester we get into more texturing and rendering so Greg and I should be posted a lot more updates!! 4 more months....yikes.

In the meantime been working on some more personal stuff...heres one of my gifts for my parents. I orignally planned for it to be a Christmas gift last winter but that didnt really pan out so i revised it and added a spot for my Sister-in-Law. Cranked it out in a few nights, definitely going to try and do MORE stuff with color, its a challenge...

Anywho HAPPY HOLIDAYS from the Marinos!!!!

Long Time

Its been way too long. Been busy though, thesis is killer! Its been very up and down, some days goo, most days...rough. Its definitely coming together, we have our final pass/fail crit in a WEEK. There is still plenty to do but in the midst of all this crazy work I have managed to build a website for my Portfolio class. Its still a bit under construction but it should be complete here in the next few days, actually it has to be or ill fail the class... but check it out!

Blend Shape Fun

Just got done with our first big critique for this semester... We had our layout due and our blendshape test for our characters. Doing this short little animation made us both very excited about actually animating these guys for the rest of the film!

Thesis Update

Been a long time since i updated...too long really. Greg and I have been working hardcore on getting the models of the characters and the cars ready to go. Everything is still in progress and will change to a certain degree but for the most part here they are. I was responsible for the male character and Greg was responsible for the female....WAA HOO!!

Summer Time

Wow...summer, for me at least, is almost over. Headed back to school soon, just finished up my internship at Big Huge Games. AWESOME! Those guys there are seriously awesome and super kool to work with. Seriously i never had so much fun doing work in my life. Nerf gun fights and 3D...what more can you ask for. Anyways, i havent been slacking on thesis either, at night been working as much as i can. So far im nearing completion on the Knockouts car, i dont have any renders just screen grabs. When textured it will look a bit more weathered and old, kinda like its been through quite a bit...

Next up...the Deconstructor, hopefulyl he will be done by the time classes start

First Thesis Idea

Here are some character designs for our first proposed thesis idea. Greg Peltz and I are collaborating on both of our thesis ideas, trying to do a joint thesis. Double the man power, double the fun. The idea is a women who is trying to break up with her Monster boyfriend (Leonard) when he finds out there is actually another man....monster....(Vinny)

It has been finals week here...Ridiculously crazy, havent really had time to have a life with all of the work. I think my "all nighters" count is past 6 for this semester. Anyways here is my caricature for DFA. I have a painted version but it blows so i am going to post the line drawing for now and when i finish repainting it i will update!

Well, worked on this for 19 hours straight... I kinda fell behind due to the break and realized Sunday morning that it was due at 8:30 this morning...oops! Oh well at least i got to enjoy my break with some Ultimate Frisbee and Basketball! Here is what i did though...yay/sigh...

The overall idea is a Civil War Soldier that doesnt believe in magic until a Native American medicine woman proves him wrong in his beliefs. Her rain dance brings rain to the dry and drought plagued plains of the desert...

Finally finished my DFA Painting. Spent alll night trying to finish it up and get it ready for 8:30 and finally did...now i sleep! With this painting i was trying something new. I wanted to try and mimic a style i really liked...in other words Mr. Shane Prigmore if you see this i am not ripping you off, only trying to get a glimpse of your awesomeness into my own work. I have a link to his site on my blog, check it out....hes really amazing! Simplified is not easy...at all

Here are some random drawings from throughout this school year of some of my peers... Hopefully the Ringling people can spot who they are...

I really wanted to post some of my doodles from DFA. I really like that class a lot, i especially love the Demos and Crits...Ron has a ton of good information...but seeing as how it is at 8:30 some people people tend to get a bit distracted by the sleepy monster. It tends to be the same people too, therefor they get drawn the most.

4 days left to finish CA stuff and here i am fiddling with this mumbo jumbo...well, as all CA teachers always say, "back to work" (whip cracks!)
